Safety Statement
This statement sets out the health & safety policy of Real Learning Ltd. and the means through which that policy is to be implemented. Our objective is to provide a safe and healthy place of work for all associates and to meet all our duties and obligations to our clients.
It is Real Learning’s intention to protect our associates from accident or ill health at work. The company will seek to ensure that all our equipment and systems do not constitute a risk to the Health & Safety of our associates and we will consult with associates on risk improvements.
The Health & Safety Policy below outlines our commitment to ensuring that the places in which our associates work are as safe and healthy as reasonably practicable and that all relevant health and safety legislation is complied with.
Health And Safety Policy
- work activities are managed so as to ensure the safety, health and welfare of our associates;
- the safety statement is maintained and updated, risk assessments are carried out and reviewed as required and brought to the attention of all associates at least annually;
- identified protective and preventative measures are implemented and maintained;
- improper conduct likely to put an associate’s safety and health at risk is prevented;
- a safe place of work is provided, which is adequately designed and maintained;
- a safe means of access and egress is provided;
- safe systems of work are provided;
- risks to health from any article or substance are prevented;
- appropriate information, instruction and training are provided;
- competent personnel to advise and assist in securing the safety, health and welfare of our associates are employed when required.

Our approach to Health & Safety, as far as is reasonably practicable, will be:
- to provide a safe place of work;
- to continue to identify and control hazards;
- to prevent, as far as is reasonably possible, any improper conduct or behaviour likely to put the Safety, Health & Welfare of associates at risk;
- to consult with associates/staff on all Health & Safety matters;
- to provide a safe system of work practices;
- to provide appropriate information and training to associates/staff on a continuous basis;
- to make Health & Safety a key issue.
Our Responsibilities:
Real Learning Ltd. Specifically, these responsibilities are:
- through liaison with our clients, to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for associates when they work on client sites in addition to conforming to all current statutory requirements;
- to provide the appropriate type and level of training to enable associates perform their work safely and effectively;
- to maintain a vigilant and continuing interest in all Health & Safety matters relevant to both the company and its associates.
Associate Responsibilities:
- co-operate with the company and its clients in maintaining a safe workplace;
- report any potential hazards to one of Real Learning’s Directors and not work in any hazardous conditions should they exist;
- be aware of the nearest emergency exits and fire fighting/first aid equipment;
- never interfere with or misuse anything provided by the company or its clients in the interests of Health & Safety;
- read the company Health & Safety statement and obey all mandatory signs;
- not partake in any activity likely to lead to injury to you or others.

Consultation:
Reporting Of Accidents:
- date, time and place of the incident;
- name, address, occupation and age of the injured person;
- circumstances (including cause and nature of the injury and the arrangements made
for its treatment).
All accidents will be investigated by a Director of the company and a written report prepared. Corrective action will be taken where necessary to avoid a reoccurrence.
Fire Procedures:
Upon entering a client site, all associates must familiarise themselves with the site’s exit routes and the location/type of fire extinguishers on the site as well as designated assembly points.
- activate the fire alarm;
- if there is a reasonable hope of extinguishing the blaze, attack the fire immediately;
- do not under any circumstances expose yourself to danger;
- leave the building by the nearest fire exit and proceed to your designated assembly point.
If you hear an alarm, you should:
- switch off any equipment under your control and leave the building by the nearest fire exit;
- do not stop to collect personal belongings;
- once outside, do not enter the building until you are told it is safe to do so.
Welfare Facilities And Workplace Requirements:
- toilet facilities;
- adequate ventilation, temperature and lighting;
- fire detection and fire-fighting equipment;
- emergency routes and exits.
Work-Related Stress And Dignity At Work:
- no associate will be subjected to harassment from (or degrading behaviour by) colleagues or clients and that everyone in the workplace treats others with respect and courtesy;
- no associate has to work in an environment which is unsafe and in which there are risks of accidents;
- everyone is clear what their role in a project/assignment is.

Associate Responsibilities When Working On Client Sites:
- only enter the client site with prior permission of the client;
- on arrival at the client’s premises, make their presence known at reception or make contact with a client representative;
- obey the site’s rules and safety signs;
- familiarise themselves with the layout of the premises and emergency evacuation procedures prior to commencing training;
- check emergency exits are unobstructed and available for use prior to commencing training;
- avoid trailing cables;
- ensure that external training areas (if applicable) are fit for purpose.
