Privacy Policy (Actors/Associates)

This Data Protection Statement is effective from 25 May 2018.

This data protection statement explains how we may use the personal information with which you have provided us. Please take the time to read it carefully.

1. Who we are and why we collect your information.

We may use your personal information to contact you about potential work opportunities and updates about Real Learning’s business. Where we do so,
Real Learning is the Data Controller. Where we use your information for this purpose, we do so in our legitimate interest to connect with those who have expressed an interest in working with us. You have the right to object to this at any time.

2. The information we collect and the purposes for which we use it

The data we have about you comes from two sources: a) the Registration Form that you completed when you expressed an interest in working with us; and b) invoices received from you. The information from those sources (and why we use it) is as follows:

PPS/Social Security Number For accounting and revenue reporting purposes.
For accounting and revenue reporting purposes. To identify associates who are appropriate
to particular assignments.
Agent’s Name & Address So that we can pay you via your agent (if
you have indicated that preference).
Bank Account Details So that we can pay you.
Acting Experience & Commercial Experience To identify associates who are appropriate
to particular assignments.
Emergency Contact details So that, in the event of an emergency, we
can contact the person you would like us to.

3. Third Parties

We may share your personal information only with third party services providers that perform services and functions on our behalf such as our accountants, IT service providers, other business advisors, and providers of security and administration services. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions and applicable law.

4. Storage Periods

We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collected it, including for the purpose of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. When we no longer need your data (for the purposes above), we will delete it.

5. Data Security

We have in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those officers, employees and contractors who have a business need to know. They will process your personal data only on our instructions and they are subject to a confidentiality agreement. We have in place procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any relevant regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.

6. Your Rights

You have several rights under data protection law in relation to how we use your personal information. You have the right (free of charge) to:

  • request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • rectify any inaccurate personal information we hold about you;
  • erase personal information we hold about you;
  • restriction of processing of your personal information;
  • object to our use of your personal information for our legitimate interests;
  • receive your personal information in a structured, commonly used and
    machine readable format and to have that data transmitted to another data
    controller.

These rights are, in some circumstances, limited by data protection legislation. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, please contact us (info@reallearning.ie). We will endeavour to respond to your request within one month. If we are unable to deal with your request within a month, we may extend this period by a further two months and we will explain why.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint to the office of the Data Protection Commissioner.
